As relayed by Ms Christine Obiya, Chief Executive Officer, Amazing Space, a short while ago, we are indeed, as a Kenyan establishment elated to announce, that Diani Reef Beach Resort & Spa has just been bestowed with the Service Excellence Award in the Amarula Best Retreats in Africa Awards 2009 held at the Museum Africa in Johannesburg on Oct 29th, 2009.

In the last 02 and half years we’ve driven our businesses with the strategy that the key to managerial innovation is the exploration of powerful ideas in unusual places, thereby challenging management orthodoxies. Innovation to a lot of people means new ideas, new ways of marketing, the buzz words of information, communication and technology; but management or leadership itself is the most fertile ground for innovation.

It was indeed a very gratifying moment for all of Kenya when Diani Reef Beach Resort & Spa in the course of 2008 became the only hand picked resort in KENYA to be listed as a 5-star deluxe in the 531 page spread Kuoni Destination Management Meetings & Incentive Global Planner, presenting an exclusive array of 320 hotels, resorts and meeting venues in more than 30 countries worldwide. We have since retained the listing in the 2009 Edition of the same publication.

Furthermore, we had also won the Gold in the Most Innovative Retreat and 02-Silvers in Service Excellence & The Leading Wellness Retreat in the Amarula Best Retreat in Africa 2008 awards in Johannesburg on Oct 01st, 2008. Our team’s pedigree today reflects a “has done” & “has seen”.

We’ve also been featured in the Luxury Spas 2009 Edition of the Conde Nast Johanssen for offering one of the world’s best spa experiences and simultaneously bestowed with the membership of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Chicago, one of only two hospitality establishments in the African Continent to have achieved the feat.
